I didn't really like this at all! this sponge feels a bit like a massive oval version of those cheapie latex triangle sponges - i felt like it just sucked up all the product and deposited very little on my face. good if you want very, very minimal coverage I suppose, but not at all comparable to its competitors.2
was expecting good things from this sponge, sadly i found that it absorbed most things rather than leaving a nice finish.2
I can't compare this to the beauty blender as I have never tried it, so I was hoping this sponge could be a good replica. However I am not that impressed. It's very firm to the point of being almost hard and soaks up a lot of product.
However the finish it leaves is very beautiful!
I just find I put on more makeup than if I were using a brush or my fingers.
I find I lose a lot of product in a sponge and I prefer the finish of a brush a lot easier to clean also2
I was excited to get this sponge in my box, but so disappointed once I tested it out. It's rock hard and instead of blending foundation onto my face, it seemed to be wiping it away and leaving a patchy finish. My other sponges are far better, I wouldn't use this one unless totally desperate2
Have used a brush for years, was very excited to try this as was my first birch box. Was extremely disappointed , socked up far to much foundation so ended up using double the amount I would use with my brush. The finish wasn't as good as when I use my brush, sadly not for me.2
As a Beauty Blender junkie I was really sceptical about this sponge, as I've yet to find a decent dupe (the Real Techniques sponge is very good though) - and I was right. Far too stiff even once damp, it soaked up all the product giving a very sparse, uneven coverage. Very disappointing. Invest in a Beauty Blender they are worth every penny I promise you!2
Firstly love the colour and the texture of the sponge. I do find though it's a little too big.
It's very soft but did find it quite difficult to blend my foundation out.
Will definitely be sticking to my Real Techniques Miracle Complexion but this is good to have as a back up
I really didn't get on with this product. I found that even after using it damp it sucked up all of my foundation, I don't ever tend to get through just one pump of my everyday foundation but when using this I had to use three!
Having said that, even though it didn't work for me when applying foundation I gave it another whirl and used it to blend concealer from under my eyes and when doing so it worked well. It still absorbed a small amount of product but I am yet to find a brush or sponge that doesn't.
Overall it isn't awful and I do have a use for it and £4.99 isn't expensive at all as long as you know that you are potentially buying it to use only for concealer but personally I don't think that it's anything special and my personal recommendation would be to just stick with a brush.
As a beauty blender lover and owner of many .. I found this verson far to hard and quite resistive for applying make up. I like beauty blenders to achieve a flawless look and this just made things difficult! Would of been easier applying my make up with my fingers2
